Chords Stuff…Important – !

Guitar Lessons No Comments

Find out why learning chords out of a chord dictionary will probably KILL your chances of EVER mastering the guitar (and turn you into a baboon)…the BIG DIFFERENCE between accompaniment and part playing…and learn and the CORRECT way to go about figuring out how to get finger independence!

Hey – This is a brief lecture on the correct way to approach NOT learning chords when you’re a beginner on the guitar – !

Now that sounds weird right? Well just have a listen to the lecture (it’s only about 15 mins long) and it’ll explain why you could seriously mess up your playing by diving straight into chord playing, and what you SHOULD be doing from day one.

Here’s your audio…

Vivid Soda | Burlesque Revue 4 Comments

If You’re A Pro Burlesque Performer Then Read This – The World Just Got Even BETTER!

Vivid Soda | Burlesque Revue

Vivid Soda | Burlesque Revue (3)

I don’t know if you know what I’ve been working on here in the top secret ultra cool labs at Vivid Soda, but I’ve been making something unique and simply awesome for the UK’s growing troupe of burlesquers. I made it for you, and I sincerely hope you’re going to like it. There have been rumours and leaks but the cat is about to finally get out of the bag – and it’s a pretty big cat!

As you know we run Vivid Soda | Burlesque Revue as a trading division of Hardcore Guitar Limited, and there’s a very good reason for that. It means we can hide all the boring business stuff in the parent company and just get on with having a cool time doing what we do best, running hugely successful burlesque shows. And it was whilst doing these shows I realised that quite a few of our performers were taking huge professional risks by not being insured as performers.

Now don’t worry – I’m not trying to sell you anything here – I just want everyone to know what the heck is going on. I want you to understand that some very serious people are taking the burlesque revolution very seriously, and that we can all benefit from their interest.

Vivid Soda: GRAND PRIX

Vivid Soda | Burlesque Revue: GRAND PRIX - Katerina "Kitty Kane" Stejanovich and Lyndsey "Banbury Cross" Buckingham vs. MCLAREN.

So anyway, being a bit of an Artful Dodger I ran around The City and cajoled one of my racing contacts, who’s a top London Broker, to MAKE an insurance policy for us. He got all worried and everybody said it couldn’t be done. Naturally, this being a Vivid Soda “impossible project”, like the Formula 1 show at the British Grand Prix last summer (remember that?), I can proudly announce that as of midnight on January 1st 2010 a professional insurance policy was made just for you! How about that for super cool? (If you just don’t get how outrageously MEGA this is then I do understand – it’s not like everyone lies awake at night BUILDING insurance products – But trust me, this is HUGE!)

Why Vivid Soda’s Professional Burlesque Performers Insurance ROCKS!

Vivid Soda | Burlesque Revue

Now I know you can get public liability insurance when you join Equity, but that’s just to stop you being sued if you fall off stage and injure someone. What if you got the public liability insurance and £1,500 worth of cover for all your kit when you take it out of your home. And what if your kit was covered even when it was at home? And what if you scored a hot gig in Vegas or MONACO, what would your cover do for you there? Well with the policy I’ve come up with you don’t have to buy a years worth of cover for a gig in Paris or Vancouver, which no one can afford to do. So we’ve built a modular product that allows you to just bolt on extra cover when you need it. If Jac Bowie calls you for that super cool gig in the sunshine in Oz you can now go, fully insured with your kit, and not have to worry about breaking any laws regarding public liability insurance. And if you grab a couple of bits and bobs that take you over the £1,500 kit limit we can ramp that up too. It’s all gravy!

So to get things going the guys at the insurance company suggested we do a photo call outside Lloyds of London. You know the type of thing – Two dudes in suits shaking hands with a couple of burlesquers all dolled up to make them look cool. And you know what – I thought that idea SUCKED – !

This is the world of high finance taking the burlesque revolution seriously in the UK – I think we can do a bit better than that. How about we have ten, twenty or even a hundred burlesquers crowding out the photo op – and then go have a burlesque party afterwards at some poor unsuspecting downtown Soho dive bar – Like The Soho Hotel!

If you’d like to be part of burlesque history and take part in the photo shoot then please fill in the form below and we’ll get you hooked up as soon as we get details and stuff.
