SPEED: How to play the guitar…Fast

Guitar Lessons 2 Comments

Speed – There’s a whole lot of it in guitar playing, and just for starters there’s even THREE DIFFERENT TYPES – !

In this tour-de-force high end Hollywood production (hmm…) I explain the differences between the three different types of speed and what to do with them.

And you’d better pay pretty close attention to the differences because you need all three to get FAST – !

Usually when someone comes along for a guitar lesson in Northampton at Hardcore Guitar Limited they’ve got their speed technique all messed up. Don’t get me wrong here but there’s a HUGE difference between playing “quickly” and true “speed”.

It goes like this. If you learn some stuff wrong, and then try to play that faster, then you never get true speed. There’s always too much rubbish in the playing to allow you to get AWESOMELY fast.

BUT- ! If you hunker down and grab the training techniques in the video you’ll play the stuff right in the first place, and that will get you true SPEED.

After me: “Speed is a byproduct of…” ( Answer’s in the video! )

Here’s a breakdown of whet we cover in this training video:

1 – STUDY SPEED – Hunkering down with SYNTAX, the order and sequence of playing stuff.

2 – PRACTICE SPEED – “Chunking” the info into bigger groups of notes.

3 – PERFORMANCE SPEED – The 110% Rule and how to use it.

Here’s your TAB for the exercise in the video:

Hope you enjoy the video!
